The Trifecta day. A term coined by board enthusiasts describing a day that involved surfing, snowboarding, and skating all in one day. We decided that the trifecta day needed a bit more salt. That's when Ron suggested the idea to sail, fish, and surf from Mission Bay to San Diego Bay on the Hobie Adventure Islands. The journey involves sailing or kicking roughly 12 nautical miles through kelp beds, beautiful cliffs, and ending in the calm waters of San Diego Bay. It was an absolute blast and the Adventure Islands were the vehicle for the job!
The ability to easily change from sailing to fishing, surfing, made the journey fun and easy. Additionally, the Hobie Mirage Drive helped out a ton when the wind conditions were less than ideal. We were still able to make great time by using the pedal power to get us through flat wind areas. If you are interested in checking out Hobie Island for your next adventure, come into Fast Lane kayaks at Dana Landing on Mission Bay.
